About the Developer

Steven Soria, co-owner of HomerMaker.com, brings over two decades of distinguished experience in luxury craftsmanship and design. A third-generation leather artisan, Steven holds a master’s degree in sculpture and fine arts, complemented by a minor in product design and development, along with studies in painting and art history at the Sorbonne University.

Raised part-time on a ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley, Steven developed a deep appreciation for the region’s rich heritage—from polo traditions to its acclaimed wines—which continues to influence his work today. This legacy is further enriched by the craftsmanship of his grandfather and great uncle, whose saddles are preserved in the Western Carriage Museum of Santa Barbara.

Steven’s passion for his heritage and design is reflected in HomerMaker’s earliest creations, including its first bespoke leather wine cases and bags. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with iconic brands such as Deckers, Pendleton, Red Wing Boots, and Converse.

Seven years ago, in his Santa Barbara atelier, Steven began crafting prototypes and samples for HomerMaker under the guidance of partner Terry Pillow—work that culminated in his becoming co-owner in 2024. A vintage car aficionado, Steven’s creations embody a harmonious blend of artistry, heritage, and meticulous craftsmanship, defining the timeless elegance that is the hallmark of HomerMaker.
