A Neighbor’s New Chapter: Celebrating Lucky’s Los Angeles Arts District

At Homer Montecito, we have always believed that great hospitality is about more than beautiful spaces or exceptional food—it’s about the people behind them.

For those of us on Coast Village Road in Montecito, Lucky’s Steakhouse has long been more than a restaurant. It’s a neighborhood institution and, quite literally, one of our neighbors. Over the years, we’ve watched Gene Montesano continue to build places that feel timeless while bringing people together around a shared table.

That’s why it was such a pleasure for the Homer team to make a field trip to Los Angeles last Friday evening to celebrate the opening of Lucky’s newest location in the Arts District.

The new restaurant captures everything we’ve always admired about the Lucky’s experience—classic American steakhouse hospitality, warm service, and an atmosphere that feels polished without ever being pretentious. Set against the creative energy of Downtown Los Angeles’ Arts District, it feels like a natural evolution of the brand while staying true to its roots.

We were honored to celebrate alongside Gene, his family, friends, and the incredible hospitality team that worked tirelessly to bring this new chapter to life. Openings like these are never the result of one person—they’re the product of talented chefs, managers, servers, designers, builders, and countless people working behind the scenes with a shared commitment to excellence.

From everyone at Homer Montecito, congratulations to Gene Montesano and the entire Lucky’s family on a beautiful opening. Thank you for continuing to raise the bar for hospitality while creating places where memories are made.

We look forward to many more visits and wish the Los Angeles Arts District team every success in the years ahead.

Congratulations, and welcome to the neighborhood, Los Angeles.
